Affirmation of Faith
The Word of God
At Central Community we believe that the Bible is the word of God, fully inspired and inerrant, penned under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It has supreme authority in all matters of faith, conduct, and truth. We look to God’s word weekly for direction and wisdom on all matters of our lives.
The Trinity
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man; He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, physically rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God until He comes back to earth to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man; He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, physically rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God until He comes back to earth to judge the living and the dead.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that God has sent His Holy Spirit to live in all Christians to guide them, comfort them, convict them of sin, and empower them to do all that God desires.
Christian Conduct
We believe that it is the will of God for believers to walk in progressive sanctification, growing continuously in the faith (Heb. 6:1).
Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the sick in answer to prayer offered in faith (James 5:14-16).
Regeneration
We believe that all peoples are sinners by nature and choice, and therefore are under condemnation because of sin. But Jesus laid down His life that we may have life. Anyone who repents of their sins, believes that Jesus is Lord and Savior, is saved and regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of an inward work (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4). We believe in commemorating the Lord’s Supper by the symbolic use of bread and fruit of the vine (1 Cor. 11:24, 25).
